Indian Election And Money Distribution

by admin on April 7, 2009

Indian Election commission has issued notice to few political leaders over cash distribution to voters or Indian citizen.

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission on Thursday slapped a notice on Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav for alleged distribution of cash by his party workers at a Holi function. Source

This is in fact injustice to voters as well as Indian citizens. MP or any other government officers, employees are paid tax payers money for doing their duty and while Indian citizens doing their duty by casting their vote, they are not paid. On top of it, MPs ( Member Of Parliament) are hard to contact once election is over, for common men, let alone get some money from them. So while they are giving money to common people during election time, Election Commission tries to stop that! It is an injustice to common people.

Election Commission should try to educate voters that since voters identity is secret, he can vote as per his choice, even after taking money from any candidate, rather than trying to stop political leaders from distributing money.
