Well, let me clarify that I do not support the present CASTE SYSTEM in India, before some one starts abusing me.
And to be more honest, I do not agree to the word CASTE being used to describe the ’system’ in India and I am not sure the English word of Indian ‘VARNA’ System or Hindu ‘VARNA’ system. Major differences :
1. Caste is determined by birth, in VARNA system, people are classified by profession they take. In VARNA system, it is more like calling a person taking robbing as profession a robber. No person is born robber. Same way, in VARNA system, no people is born to any VARNA, but he or she starts belonging to one once he takes up the profession.
2. There may be many castes, but there are only four VARNA, Brahmin, Kshetriya, Vaishya and Shudra.
3. VARNA does not mean colour, but one’s occupation. The word VARNA originated from ‘VRI’ whch means occupation.
How HINDU VARNA System became by birth or how it was named caste, not VARNA, is in the scope of my thinking, but why I support this VARNA system also why it is the reality!
Know about the four VARNAs, and choose yourself a VARNA. Choice reveals character.
I think I already made my point. Thank you.
