So the ex-president Dr. APJ Kalam was put through security checking while boarding a Continental Airlines in New Delhi to Newark, USA. Indian civil aviation ministry has lodged FIR against Continental Airlines.
Continental Airlines may have followed letters of the law, but not spirit of the law. An well-known person like Dr. APJ Kalam and an ex-president accompanied by security personal could have been exempted from going through security procedure. Also, as per Indian Airport law, he is exempt from security check in any Indian airports. Continental airlines followed US rules on Indian Soil. Most probably they thought India is a weak country, will not react sharply against USA.
