When Columbus was feted in Spanish Royal Court, one jealous courtier was trying to downplay Columbus’ discovery. “Even If I had sailed out aimlessly for years, I would have reached some place too.”
Columbus politely gave an egg and a plate and asked the courtier to make the egg stand vertically on the plate without any external support. The courtier tried hard for few minutes but could not succeed! So he said, “its impossible, nobody can make the egg stand vertically on a plate without external support.”, Columbus quietly made a small dent on the bottom of the egg and made it stand vertically on the plate! The courtier exclaimed, “Eh, its easy! Everybody can do it”
“Yes, everybody can do it once somebody had done it for the first time.”, Columbus replied politely.
