Don’t you think that the time has come for changing the sequence of English alphabet now ?
For many years children has been taught to learn alphabet in certain sequence like 1,b,c,d,e,f .. x,y,z. I think the time has come to change this sequence and move on. The sequence should follow the computer or laptop keyboard.
It should start with q,w,e,r,t,y,u,i,o,p,a,s,d,f,g,h,j,k,l,z,x,c,v,b,n,m. Now a days, children as well as adult end up typing more than writing on paper. So, changing the sequence of the alphabet would help people remember the location of letters in keyboard and help type faster.
It may also help to reduce typographical errors. A proper study should be conducted if changing alphabet sequence would help typographical errors and how much.
People now spend time in typing, be it on computer, laptop, mobile, ipad, iphone etc. And strangely, they all have arrangements of alphabet not the way we learn alphabet.
So, the time has come to teach our children the sequence of alphabet the way it is laid out in keyboard.
